  National Bank(NB bank) dominate MK 5 million to Southern Region Chess Leageu. Veteran chess players in the Southern Region have welcomed the support from National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc, saying it has removed many challenges they usually face during competitions. The K5 million donation towards the SRCL Veterans Chess Tournament has brought relief among players. With the bank covering key costs, players will no longer struggle with issues such as organisation, venue arrangements and basic tournament needs. Many veteran players say the support allows them to concentrate fully on playing chess. Instead of worrying about expenses and logistics, they can now enjoy the game and compete freely. The assistance has also made players feel recognised and respected. Veterans say the bank’s involvement shows that their long contribution to the development of chess in Malawi is valued. Mwamadi recently resigned from his position, accusing the club owners, Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC), of failing to fulfil promises made when they took over the team.
